Your Privacy on Decifer Learning
Written for you, not just for grown-ups!
What do we know about you?
When you use Decifer Learning, we save:
- The name you use on Decifer
- Your school year
- Your quiz scores and which topics you've practised
- Your Discovery Cards and badges
- Your avatar, theme colour, and study buddy choice
If you are in Years 1 to 8, you make up a username. You don't need to give us your real name or your email. We ask for a grown-up's email instead, so they know about your account.
If you are in Year 9 or above, we ask for your name and your email address, so you can sign in.
We never ask anyone for their home address, phone number, or a photo.
Why do we save this?
We save your progress so the app remembers where you left off and can show you questions that match what you're learning. Your parent can see your progress too. That's how they know how you're getting on.
Who can see your information?
- You can see your own scores, cards, and badges
- Your parent or carer can see your progress and quiz results
- Nobody else. We don't share your information with other companies
Do we track you around the internet?
No. Decifer Learning doesn't follow you around the internet or show you adverts. When you're signed in to your account we only use Vercel Analytics, a simple counter that tells us how many people visited the app. It doesn't know who you are. We do not use Google Analytics or any advertising trackers on children's accounts.
Can you delete your information?
Yes! Your parent can delete your account, or download a copy of everything we keep about you, from their Decifer page. If you are in Year 9 or above and no parent is linked to your account, you can do it yourself on your profile page.
You can also ask a grown-up to email us at hello@deciferlearning.com.
The rules we follow
Decifer is run from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE has a law to keep children safe online, called the Child Digital Safety law. It says we must keep your information safe, only keep what we need, and let your parent decide about your account. We follow it.
What if something feels wrong?
